Perfectionism is an artists’ trait.
If you are an artist, it’s your superpower.
There are so many business/productivity advice to tell otherwise and discourage you.
“Done is better than perfect.”
“You’re failing because you are a perfectionist.”
“Get rid of the perfectionist in you.”
Oh dear!
In business, of course, you should test minimum viable products.
There is a place for good enough, a valid use case.
But not in arts.
Perfectionism may or may not be a hindrance to business and productivity.
It’s a superpower in creativity.
Embrace your superpower and utilize it where it belongs.
Don’t let people who have never made art discourage you.
You’ll never see a work of art praised for being good enough.
Do your best in the pursuit of your artistic journey.
You are going to make a lot of mistakes on the way, you will fail too.
But don’t ever settle with mediocre.
And never stop seeking perfection.
